Ben Mole, Director
Ben is an award-winning writer and director currently focussing on feature length and TV scripted drama, with a heavy leaning towards speculative fiction.
He began his career as a lighting and camera tech on blockbuster Hollywood movies, indie films, and TV in Los Angeles and in the UK. Making award winning shorts led to directing work in commercials, and promos with spots for clients such as Clearasil, Miramax, Nokia, Paramount, Sony, Suzuki and many more, winning the prestigious Promax Gold and D&AD awards. Ben then moved into writing and directing long form narrative. He has writer and director credits on over thirty television specials, series and feature length shows as well as recently in VR. He has worked in scripted drama, comedy, docudrama and documentary, which have aired on all major UK terrestrial channels, American and international TV channels, and on over the top services such as Netflix and Amazon. His TV shows have been nominated for Grierson Awards and picked up Gold and Silver awards at the New York Film and TV festival. Karen Akers, Writer
Karen Ankers is a poet, novelist and playwright who lives in Anglesey North Wales, where she enjoys teaching Creative Writing and is a regular performer at spoken word events. Her often socially motivated poetry has appeared in many magazines and anthologies, and her recently published poetry collection, One Word At A Time, was described by poet/performer Laura Taylor as “a collection that shines with honesty and integrity”. Her one-act plays, which try to give a voice to those who would otherwise have none, have been performed in the UK, USA, Australia and Malyasia. Her debut novel, The Crossing Place, is currently receiving excellent reviews, being described as “gripping”, “compelling”, “captivating” and “brilliant”. The Afterplanner is her first short film.
